Supporting Your Child

on Their Path to Healing

At CEDAR Health, we know how overwhelming it can be to watch your child struggle with an eating disorder. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for children and adolescents provides a safe, supportive space where kids can heal, build resilience, and develop a positive relationship with food and their bodies. We believe in a holistic, person-centered approach, and our program is designed to make recovery feel approachable, fun, and meaningful. Every child’s journey is unique, and we’re here to help them every step of the way.

How We Support Your Child’s Recovery

  • Therapy & Process Groups

    Therapy & Process Groups

Your child will participate in therapy groups focused on building self-compassion, learning emotion regulation skills, and understanding their relationship with food. These groups provide a space for kids to express themselves and connect with others facing similar challenges.

  • Meal Support & Nutrition Education

With gentle, supported meal sessions, your child will have the opportunity to work through food-related fears and build a healthier relationship with eating. Nutrition education is included, so they understand the importance of nourishment in a way that feels manageable.

  • Skill-Building & Psychoeducation

We equip kids with valuable coping skills, focusing on emotional regulation, building resilience, and understanding how thoughts and feelings affect behaviors. These tools help them navigate everyday challenges and support long-term recovery.

  • Experiential & Creative Modalities

Recovery doesn’t have to be all talk—your child will engage in creative activities like art, journaling, and gentle movement. These activities allow kids to express themselves and process emotions in a non-judgmental space.

Here’s what we work toward:

Normalizing eating behaviors and reducing food-related anxieties

Improving body image and fostering self-compassion

Building emotional resilience and coping skills

Preventing relapse and creating a foundation for long-term recovery

Is This Program Right

for Your Child?

We accept children and adolescents (ages 10-17) who have been diagnosed with an eating disorder and who are medically stable. If you’re wondering whether our program is a good fit for your child, we invite you to schedule an initial consultation. Together, we’ll assess if our IOP is the right path for their recovery journey.

Supporting Your Family’s Journey

We know that family support plays a crucial role in a child’s recovery. That’s why we offer dedicated family therapy, educational support, and a parent support group. Our goal is to equip families with the tools and understanding they need to support their child and navigate the challenges of recovery together.
